Job Title: Banquet Captain

Fort Collins Hilton is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Banquet Captain to join our team. As a Banquet Captain, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests by planning and implementing the serving details for events.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Directs the setting up of tables, ensuring they are correctly and uniformly set in assigned areas.
  • Confirms that table complements, such as salt, pepper, sugar, and bread baskets, are properly cleaned and filled.
  • Plans the serving order and orchestrates its completion in a timely, quiet, and courteous manner.
  • Ensures servers are ready to serve meals when prepared.
  • Sets up, serves, and breaks down coffee breaks, receptions, and other special functions as assigned.
  • Maintains communication with guest contact persons for guest needs.
  • Set up, operate, and dismantle audio-visual equipment.
  • Be familiar with and maintain knowledge of maintenance and usage of all Audio-Visual equipment.
  • Abilities to perform the job of Banquet Associate and Banquet Bartender.
  • Able to understand departmental forecasting to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  • Assist Banquet Manager or All Purpose Manager with scheduling, training staff, and inventory.
  • Ensures service standards are being followed and takes corrective action when they are not.
  • Guide, direct, and motivate banquet staff.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, including reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.
  • Any and all other work as required to complete the primary purpose of the position.
Requirements:
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Six months of banquet food service experience.
  • Prior leadership experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Food Safety certificate or complete training during initial 90 days.
  • Alcohol certification or complete training during initial 90 days.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend and squat repeatedly.
  • Ability to walk and stand for duration of scheduled shift.
Other:
  • Must be flexible to working days, early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications, and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
