The Network Administrator position at MTA - Flint provides technical and administrative support for all local area networks, wide area networks, wireless networking environments, and connected devices. The role is responsible for maintaining knowledge of existing hardware and software to maximize network efficiency and provide detailed reporting on network information and usage.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Plan, lead, and implement computer systems network design, connectivity, and implementation.
  2. Implement comprehensive network monitoring, reporting, and alerting products to monitor network performance and maintain performance metrics and KPIs.
  3. Analyze networks to ensure effectiveness and maintain redundant networking systems to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
  4. Review connectivity requests to determine requirements for installation or modification.
  5. Design layouts for implementing new projects or developments.
  6. Develop policies and procedures related to network implementation and utilization.
  7. Troubleshoot network problems or systems failure involving hardware and software.
  8. Establish documentation standards for networking to ensure network performance and ease of utilization.
  9. Develop bid specifications for the purchase of hardware or software used in systems network development processes.

This technical position requires problem-solving, customer/client focus, technical capacity, communication proficiency, time management, and performance management skills. The ideal candidate will have an associate degree in a technical field and five years of experience in a large local area network environment.
