We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team at Lynn Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction and support to students with language-based learning disabilities in grades 9-12.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of each student
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in a language-based learning environment
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive educational experience
- Assess and document student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness, and making data-driven instructional decisions
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in special education and language-based instruction, incorporating new ideas and strategies into the classroom
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field; Master's degree preferred
- Valid Massachusetts teaching license in Moderate Disabilities; SEI Endorsement required
- Experience working with students with language-based learning disabilities; experience in an urban setting a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to meet the expectations of the Massachusetts Standards and Indicators of Effective Teaching Practice
