Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Description

INTEGRIS Health Southwest Medical Center, Oklahoma's largest not-for-profit health system, is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team in Oklahoma City, OK.

This role is part of our Nuclear Cardiology team, providing exceptional support to INTEGRIS Health caregivers and the community at large.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Perform complex nuclear medicine procedures, utilizing computers to process and manipulate patient data to achieve accurate exam results.
  • Maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission guidelines.
  • Record patient results on the appropriate media.
  • Conduct quality control procedures on nuclear medicine cameras, dose calibrators, and well/probe counters.
  • Calculate decay of radiopharmaceuticals and their biological half-lives, and compound complex drug kits.

This role may require driving a Mobile Coach or other hospital vehicle to rural facilities to perform job duties.

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist reports to the Lead Nuclear Technician.

This position involves daily exposure to low-level radiation from sealed sources, patient doses, and dosed patients, as well as occasional exposure to higher levels of radiation from therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals.

Some exposure to patient blood, other bodily fluids, and vector-borne pathogens is also expected.

This role requires the ability to work in excess of 8 hours per day/40 hours per week and participate in the on-call roster.

Universal protective clothing may be required.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Current Nuclear Medicine Technology certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Board must be obtained within 12 months of hire date.
  • Current CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).
  • Oklahoma State Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to our insurance carrier.
