Description

Duke Health seeks a dedicated Pediatric Respiratory Care Practitioner to provide respiratory care services for pediatric patients in our Level IV Intensive Care Nursery, Pediatric Cardiothoracic ICU, Pediatric ICU, and Pediatric Emergency Room.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic clinical procedures as defined in the Respiratory Care Services scope of clinical practice.
  • Administer oxygen, aerosolized medication via Intermittent Positive Pressure Breathing (IPPB), Intermittent Aerosol Therapy (IAT) and Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI) and incentive breathing devices.
  • Conduct nasotracheal and artificial airway suctioning, CPR and bag-mask ventilation, pulse oximetry monitoring, arterial blood gas punctures, and bedside pulmonary mechanics.
Requirements
  • Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • North Carolina State Licensure or Provisional License.
  • Completion of AMA-approved Associate's Degree or equivalent program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Registry (RRT) by the National Association for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
