Job Summary:

The Security Leader is a critical role within the Henry Ford Health System, responsible for overseeing the activities of security personnel. This position requires a strong leader who can effectively manage and coordinate security efforts to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement security protocols to prevent loss of property or injury to patients, visitors, employees, or others having business with HFHS.
  • Monitor and review security reports, incidents, and electronic media to inform officers of relevant information.
  • Prepare and assign work rosters to ensure adequate security coverage throughout the hospital.
  • Arrange special coverage for events or circumstances requiring additional security presence.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive and effective security strategy.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Requires job knowledge, skills, and abilities of an HFHS Security Officer/Security Police Officer or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have currently received a satisfactory or above performance review in all areas.
  • Completion of IAHSS Supervisory and Safety training programs within the first year.
  • Must demonstrate strong management and communication capabilities.
  • Must display excellent customer service skills and behaviors as outlined in the HFHS' Customer Service Policy.

Certifications/Licenses Required:

  • Certification under public act 330 within the first year of performing this role or at the first offered classes in the tri-county area.
