Your proficiency in GAAP, account reconciliation, and balance oversight will be vital. As you assume this role, you will craft effective operational strategies and set up internal controls and policies. Familiarity with accounting software is essential, particularly experience with platforms such as Sage and Deltek, as you will lead the enhancement of Unanet within our processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the accounting functions of the organization and its subsidiaries.
  • Prepare and review necessary journal entries.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and budgets.
  • Oversee payroll operations.
  • Ensure timely completion of reconciliations and monthly closing processes.
  • Conduct internal audits of company operations.
  • Analyze cash flow and financial performance.
  • Provide cross-training and backup for other accounting personnel.
  • Coordinate annual audits and tax preparation.
  • Manage financial aspects of insurance policies and employee benefits.
  • Assist in budget preparation and forecasting, developing reports for management.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to operations, supporting and challenging business decisions.
  • Deliver ad-hoc reporting as required.
  • Establish and maintain a financial reporting schedule.
  • Ensure compliance and governance in financial practices.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management.
  • Design and implement governance structures to maintain standardized processes within the finance function.
  • Formulate internal controls and policies.
  • Ensure tax compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for process and system improvements within ERP and related systems.
  • Supervise accounting staff, including annual evaluations and goal setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance.
  • At least 8 years of professional accounting experience, with a preference for candidates with senior-level experience.
  • Preferred certifications include Certified Management Accountant, Certified Public Accountant, or Chartered Accountant.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience in analyzing business transactions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with executives and peers in financial reporting.
  • Experience in developing complex account reconciliations.
  • Innovative mindset for continuous improvement in accounting systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Unanet or similar ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of government contracting and compliance standards.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Performance Metrics

  • Timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Successful external operational and financial audits.

Physical Requirements
