Position Overview:

The Accounting Manager will report directly to the Controller and will be responsible for supervising the accounting team.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee the Accounting Staff, which includes eight (8) Staff Accountants, three (3) Construction Payables personnel, and four (4) General Accounts Payable personnel.
  2. Coordinate training for staff on software, hardware, and accounting practices related to property management.
  3. Ensure accurate recording of all transactions in compliance with current policies and procedures.
  4. Manage the timely completion of month-end and year-end closing processes and reporting packages for assigned entities.
  5. Assist in training site personnel on financial entry and data recording.
  6. Maintain cash control for assigned entities, including monthly bank account reconciliations.
  7. Familiarize with agreements with third parties regarding financial and compliance obligations and deadlines.
  8. Prepare special reports and billings as required by management or third-party entities.
  9. Review financial and operational data for proposed acquisitions.
  10. Prepare and update necessary audit schedules quarterly and assist during interim and final audits.
  11. Participate in company-sponsored educational and team-building activities.
  12. Adhere to the established work schedule to promote efficient operations.
  13. Handle payroll responsibilities as assigned, including data input for management payroll.
  14. Train accounting clerks in managing hourly payroll and oversee their work.
  15. Prepare required payroll reports for audits and ensure timely distribution of checks to employees.
  16. Ensure compliance with legal requirements for payroll withholdings and payments.
  17. Attend company events that contribute to team development.

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will possess strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook. They should demonstrate the ability to manage a varied workload, perform complex tasks, and work collaboratively within a team.


Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required, along with formal training in accounting and experience in real estate accounting.


Work Environment:

This position primarily involves sedentary work, utilizing computer and office equipment.
