Job Summary

The Fire Sprinkler Fitter position at Summit Companies is a critical role that requires a high level of technical expertise and mechanical aptitude. As a Fire Sprinkler Fitter, you will be responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining piping and sprinkler systems, fixtures, and industrial processing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and Maintain Piping Systems: Design, lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain piping and piping systems, fixtures, and sprinkler systems.
  • Perform Mechanical Tasks: Cut, thread, assemble, and bond piping and tubes according to specifications.
  • Modify and Maintain Systems: Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, and fittings.
  • Remove and Replace Components: Remove and replace worn components to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Follow Blueprints and Specifications: Follow blueprints and specifications to meet product requirements.
  • Calculate Material Measurements: Calculate material measurements to verify specifications.
  • Mentor and Coach: Mentor and coach Fire Sprinkler Fitter Apprentices and Helpers on proper installation techniques.
Requirements
  • Advanced Technical Training or Work Experience: Advanced technical school training or related work experience preferred.
  • Basic Knowledge of Hand Tools: Basic knowledge of hand tools, including electric and battery-powered equipment.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in basic computer skills.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrate problem-solving skills.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Lifting and Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 10-50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Work Environment: May be exposed to temperature changes, small spaces, and confined spaces.
  • Education and Certification: High school diploma or GED and current Fire Sprinkler Licensee.
