Position Overview:


The HVAC Technician is responsible for a wide range of duties related to the maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems within the facility.

This role involves the effective utilization of diagnostic tools and maintenance equipment to ensure all facility systems operate efficiently. Key responsibilities include engineering design support, layout, fabrication, installation, diagnostic analysis, preventive maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems and associated electrical circuits, including switchboards, distribution panels, breakers, switch gear, lighting, power systems, fire safety systems, and automation controls of varying complexity.

The technician will also provide guidance and support to subcontracted electricians as needed.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize diagnostic tools and maintenance equipment effectively.
  • Support engineering design and layout tasks.
  • Conduct installation and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems.
  • Perform diagnostic analysis and repairs on electrical circuits and systems.
  • Lead and assist subcontract electricians.

Required Skills:

  • Journeyman Electrician certification is preferred.
  • Proficient understanding of the National Electrical Code (N.E.C.), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, and local building codes.
  • Strong knowledge of automation controls, electrical distribution circuits, and fire alarm systems.
  • Excellent pneumatic knowledge and diagnostic skills, particularly with HVAC equipment.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in equipment and machinery maintenance.
  • Mechanical aptitude, basic mathematical skills, and the ability to interpret schematics and drawings.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Educational Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics is preferred.
  • HVAC license is highly desirable.
