Magellan Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Personal Financial Counselor II to join our team. As an Assignment Ready Counselor, you will provide critical support to military service members and their families, offering expert financial guidance and management services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive personal financial counseling and management services to military service members and their families.
- Assist service members in creating effective spending plans for extended absences.
- Develop and disseminate informative financial materials to service members and families.
- Coordinate and deliver a wide range of Personal Financial Management classes and workshops, addressing various aspects of the military lifecycle.
- Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
- Utilize virtual counseling and electronic communication modes, such as secure online chat and video-based communications.
- Manage duty to warn situations according to Department of Defense protocol.
- Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision, sharing information regarding trends and issues on the installations.
- Participate in regular in-services, training, and quality improvement committees.
- Bachelor's degree required; may consider applicants with an associate degree plus 4 years' experience or a high school diploma plus 6 years' experience.
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
- Must be a citizen and speak fluent English.
- Be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 1 investigation.
- Hold one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
