About the Role

NHC HealthCare Laurens is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dietary Cook to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our patients and residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals in accordance with standardized recipes and therapeutic diet orders.
  • Ensure the highest standards of food quality, safety, and sanitation in the kitchen.
  • Manage inventory and supplies, and report any issues to the Dietary Manager.
  • Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, residents, and staff to ensure their dietary needs are met.
  • Participate in in-service training and other necessary education to stay up-to-date on culinary best practices.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree or certification preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a food service or culinary role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
