Position Overview

The Skilled Dietary Chef is responsible for culinary tasks aimed at upholding exceptional standards of food quality and hygiene.

  • Ensure the dietary department is safe, secure, and sanitary, reporting any issues to the dietary manager.
  • Practice good judgment in conserving supplies and minimizing food waste.
  • Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies to ensure quality and prevent waste.
  • Review menus and prepare meals according to dietary specifications.
  • Test and taste foods for quality assurance and adjust as necessary.
  • Ensure timely meal preparation and service for all customers.
  • Check accuracy of diet trays before delivery.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and complete assigned cleaning tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and their families.
  • Process new diet orders and updates as needed.
  • Adhere to departmental dress code.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.
