We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, communicating with patients, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:- Competently perform basic and intermediate radiographic procedures, including general diagnostic and fluoroscopic imaging.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and address any questions or concerns.
- Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, ensuring patient safety and radiation protection.
- Identify patients, label images, and process radiographs, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Assist and communicate with radiologists, preparing and maintaining records as needed.
- Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, utilizing proper technique and adhering to safety protocols.
- Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
- Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Advanced training beyond high school in Radiologic Technology.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The Radiology Technologist will work in a fast-paced environment, frequently standing, walking, lifting, and bending. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull with 30 pounds of force, and perform a sliding transfer of 150 pounds with assistance.
May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids. Personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
Clear speech, vision, and hearing are required for this role.
