Role Summary:

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks across equipment and facilities. This role requires practical skills and knowledge in trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Replace electrical components including receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors.
  • Utilize plaster or compound to repair minor damages in walls and ceilings.
  • Fix or replace plumbing fixtures such as sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
  • Conduct painting tasks for structures and equipment.
  • Repair or replace concrete surfaces including floors, steps, and sidewalks.
  • Replace damaged wall paneling and floor tiles.
  • Install doors and locks.
  • Replace broken glass in windows.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  • Operate aerial equipment for maintenance tasks at elevated levels.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
  • Basic knowledge of various trades related to building operations and maintenance.
  • Training in hazardous materials cleanup, including lead and other substances.
  • Understanding of custodial and recycling practices.
  • Capability to work scheduled hours effectively.
  • Knowledge of safety practices and occupational hazards.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members.
  • Proficient in managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds or more regularly.
  • Willingness to work in challenging conditions and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Successful completion of a drug/alcohol test and background checks.
