Position Summary:

The Applications team is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to oversee the software platforms utilized within the organization. This role involves identifying essential applications that will enhance operational efficiency. Responsibilities include coordinating the installation, upgrades, and future enhancements of software applications. The SME will engage in planning and implementing business platforms/applications, analyzing business requirements, and prioritizing processes. Collaborating with key vendors is crucial for a comprehensive understanding of our platform, and providing constructive feedback to management and team members is essential for achieving sustainable application performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Investigate opportunities to optimize application processes. Contribute to the development of controls and processes that enhance application services. Troubleshoot and resolve system issues while identifying automation opportunities to improve the application suite. Collaborate with developers, project managers, and business analysts to conceptualize and develop new software applications and enhancements.
  • Incident Management: Support incident management processes by monitoring ticket queues and resolving production performance, server, and application-related issues to restore functionality.
  • Innovation: Develop new processes for improved support and training, and create automation solutions to minimize human error.
  • Compliance: Adhere to company policies and regulations, including those related to the Bank Secrecy Act.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of IT experience in application support, systems/network administration, or related areas.
- At least 1 year of experience in developing and documenting procedures.
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience in a Credit Union or Financial Services environment.

Technical Skills:
- Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and best practices (e.g., PCI, GLBA, NIST, ISO 27000, etc.).
- Proficient in Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.

Personal Attributes:
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage high-pressure situations and assess trade-offs between business needs and technology requirements.
