Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a customer-centric merchandise assortment strategy and adjust sales plans based on current fashion trends and market competition.
- Source and evaluate vendor quotations; negotiate pricing and terms effectively. Choose vendors based on cost efficiency, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Ensure adherence to product quality standards and exceed customer expectations through strategic selection and pricing.
- Analyze sales data to identify trends and evaluate item performance.
- Generate and assess reports to formulate actionable insights.
- Conduct competitive shopping to evaluate products, pricing, and merchandising strategies.
- Monitor and assess quarterly performance goals and objectives.
- Maintain budgeted profit margins and open-to-buy (OTB) for assigned categories.
- Evaluate vendor performance concerning quality, pricing, and delivery to optimize vendor selection.
- Integrate brand strategy, sourcing, marketing, and retail supply chain functions into the merchandising process for informed business decisions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 3-5 years of experience in retail buying.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database applications, including the ability to create ad hoc spreadsheets and macros.
- Experience with MicroStrategy reporting is a plus.
