Job Overview

Salary: $21 - $25 per hour DOE

Position Summary: Titanium Healthcare is in search of a dedicated Billing Analyst to enhance our vibrant team. This role involves the assessment, posting, and billing of claims as well as managing outstanding accounts receivable within our electronic health records (EHR) system. The Billing Analyst will ensure the integrity of EHR data related to accounts receivable, engage in data entry and reporting, and handle billing tasks efficiently. Furthermore, this position requires accurate processing of information, timely posting of payments, and prompt resubmission of denied claims.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and communicate denial trends and issues to internal stakeholders, collaborating effectively with management and team members for timely resolutions.
  • Evaluate patient accounts and manage outstanding payments from both insurance and patients, clearly explaining balances to patients when necessary.
  • Oversee, track, and resolve complex denied and voided claims, ensuring follow-through until claims are successfully paid.
  • Maximize reimbursement for services rendered.
  • Prepare and submit billing data and medical claims to insurance providers, including 837 and 1500 forms.
  • Monitor and document payment plans for patient statements.
  • Exhibit proactivity and creativity in evaluating, researching, and resolving billing issues.
  • Organize and prioritize multiple tasks to meet both internal and external deadlines.
  • Accurately and promptly post payments to accounts.
  • Collaborate with the revenue cycle manager and operational leadership to address frequent issues and provide guidance on error correction.
  • Conduct bi-monthly eligibility checks for clients and compile reports for management as needed.
  • Establish a tracking system for claims and health plans under review.
  • Respond to inquiries and communications in a timely manner, typically within 24-48 hours.
  • Assist in developing and reviewing billing procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma required; an associate degree in a medical field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in clinical accounts receivable, practice management, or medical administration.
  • Language: Proficient in English (both written and verbal); bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Required Skills:
    • Ability to quickly learn and utilize medical billing software.
    • Familiarity with Medi-Cal, Medicare, commercial, and patient statement billing.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and related applications.
    • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness.
    • Self-motivated with sound judgment in decision-making.
    • Experience with EHR systems.
    • Capable of multitasking and completing projects efficiently.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Experience with primary care and Medi-Cal billing is preferred.
    • Familiarity with EClinicalWorks is advantageous.

Physical Requirements: The role involves typical office work, including:

  • Regular use of a computer and office equipment.
  • Remaining stationary for up to 75% of the time.
  • Mobility around the office for up to 50% of the time.
  • Occasional lifting or moving of office equipment weighing up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to operate a vehicle and travel as necessary.
