Job Summary

DePelchin Children's Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Behavior Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our residential services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of the children and youth in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and implement interventions and activities designed to promote growth and a stable environment for children and youth.
  • Work collaboratively with the Shift Supervisor to ensure the day-to-day operations of the milieu are running smoothly.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of each child's or youth's needs and develop individualized plans to support their growth and development.
  • Provide direct care and support to children and youth, including assistance with daily living tasks, education, and recreational activities.
  • Participate in behavior management and physical restraint training to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals in our care.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a human or social service-related field preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR required; may be obtained upon hire.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Relevant experience working with children and adolescents in a residential or clinical setting.
  • Knowledge of residential service safety practices and protocols for children and adolescents.
  • Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse populations and workforce.
Work Environment
  • Residential facility setting.
  • May require physical restraint of clients.
  • Potential exposure to blood and body fluids.
