ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Creative Development and Execution

Accountable for all facets of copy across various brands, harmonizing client objectives with the agency's creative vision.

Collaborative Engagement

Works in close partnership with cross-functional team members to achieve and sustain the creative vision established for the brands and the agency.

Strategic Insight

Possesses a deep understanding of marketing strategies, objectives, and success metrics.

Client Relations

Regularly presents creative concepts to internal teams and clients, facilitating discussions to enhance the work based on thorough knowledge of market data and brand strategy.

Team Leadership

The Senior Copy Team Leader supervises copywriters and freelancers, evaluates their work, provides constructive feedback to maximize their potential, and operates independently.

Administrative Responsibilities

Ensures a detail-oriented and timely approach to administrative tasks.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Creative Development and Execution

  • Directs and contributes to copy content for assigned projects that align with strategic goals and resonate with target audiences.
  • Guides the creation of engaging language across various mediums while maintaining the established brand voice.
  • Offers art direction insights relevant to the creative concept.
  • Innovates bold creative ideas to support brand objectives while managing daily copy requirements.
  • Actively participates in agency/client review processes, revising copy as necessary and addressing any issues in collaboration with supervisors.
  • Demonstrates consistent effectiveness and reliability across multiple projects and brands.

Collaborative Engagement

  • Fosters positive relationships with various agency departments, including Editorial, Account Management, Strategy, and Project Management.
  • Communicates effectively with team members regarding deadlines, revisions, quality assurance, and new initiatives.
  • Collaborates closely with Art partners to develop and implement creative strategies that convey brand identity and messaging.
  • Proactively presents new ideas and suggestions for personal and team development to leadership.

Strategic Insight

  • Acts as a champion for the client's market position, competitive landscape, and marketing objectives.
  • Proactively generates innovative ideas that align with the client's marketing strategy and audience needs.
  • Engages actively in strategic brainstorming sessions.
  • Fully comprehends the creative brief and its significance in the creative process, considering client feedback.

Client Relations

  • Builds and maintains strong client relationships through clear presentations and a thorough understanding of brand data and strategic direction.

Team Leadership

  • Maintains open communication with all team members to ensure the creative vision is upheld and deadlines are met.
  • Mentors and inspires the copy team, delegating tasks and responsibilities as appropriate.
  • Oversees hiring, staffing, and comprehensive talent management processes.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Ensures accurate and timely reporting of timesheets for the copy team.
  • Contributes to resource allocation and project scoping discussions.

EDUCATION:

DEGREE/DIPLOMA AREA OF STUDY REQUIRED/PREFERRED

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field - Preferred

EXPERIENCE:

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AREA OF EXPERTISE REQUIRED

2-6 years of experience in Advertising/Marketing - Preferred

Experience in Pharmaceutical Advertising - Preferred

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel) or equivalent software.

Familiarity with Adobe Suite (Acrobat, InDesign) is advantageous.

  • Knowledge of social media and digital best practices.
  • Understanding of healthcare copywriting standards, including AMA style and regulatory submissions (preferred).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
