We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Building Receptionist. This role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to students, parents, and staff, while maintaining a secure and welcoming environment in the front office.
Key Responsibilities- Greets all visitors and handles inquiries in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Registers all visitors, obtaining name and nature of business.
- Enforces district and building procedures for picking up and dropping off students during the school day.
- Receives and distributes items dropped off for students by parents.
- Keeps necessary records of office operations.
- Maintains a clean and welcoming environment in the front office.
- Answers office telephone and responds appropriately to requests for information.
- Assists secretaries with technical and clerical duties as needed.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience with personal computers is required.
- Experience working with a telephone system is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administration.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as reference manuals, Board policies, and procedures manuals.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from students, parents, agencies, teachers, or members of the school community.
- Ability to effectively present information to administration, staff, public groups, and/or Board of Education.
- Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory based on school objectives.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents, and community; ability to speak clearly and concisely in written or oral communication.
- Ability to use computers where applicable.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
