About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Sterile Processing Manager to join our team at Novant Health. As a key member of our Central Sterile Services department, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of our Sterile Processing department, ensuring that we provide timely, cost-effective, and high-quality services to our patients, operating rooms, and outside clinics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Sterile Processing department, including scheduling, education, and training of staff.
  • Develop and implement annual goals for Sterile Processing that support the goals of the health system.
  • Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other departments within the Health System and with the Medical Staff.
  • Interface regularly with operating room and materials management staff, physicians, nurses, and other personnel regarding products, supplies, equipment, services, instrumentation, and other issues necessary to perform designated patient care medical and surgical procedures.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and maintain quality assurance initiatives as required by external review agencies to ensure that established standards are maintained.
  • Coordinate work flow and performance assessments with all applicable departments serviced to improve quality of work and promote a positive intra-departmental relationship.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and complete audits.
  • Maintain professional accountability by participating in in-services and committees.
Requirements
  • Certified Registered Central Sterile Tech (CRCST) certification.
  • 5 years of experience in a Sterile Processing department, including 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Demonstrates standards of performance (ownership, teamwork, communication, compassion) that support patient satisfaction and principles of service excellence.
