Position Overview:

The Mechanical Engineer II will be tasked with delivering mechanical and optical measurement solutions for the Vision Care, Surgical, and Pharma divisions, providing measurement services for products and tooling. This position supports engineering, manufacturing, and incoming inspection metrology services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical measurement systems and fixtures for various components and devices.
  • Assist in validations, change control, and root cause analysis processes.
  • Perform mechanical testing, analyze results, and prepare reports and presentations.
  • Program Smartscope and CMM instruments.
  • Evaluate mechanical features using coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and video-based inspection tools, among others.
  • Lead the qualification process for new measurement and testing equipment.
  • Provide training and maintenance support for new fixtures and equipment.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders throughout the development process.
  • Develop and implement test procedures and protocols.
Qualifications and Experience:

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Scientific/Engineering discipline with relevant technical experience.

Experience:
A minimum of 3 years in industrial or research environments.

Specialized Training:
Proficiency in optical-based metrology and CMM programming. Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorksTM), GD&T principles, and injection plastic molding. Hands-on experience with machine shop tools. Strong communication skills, knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., FDA, MDR, ISO), and the ability to excel in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
