About the Cooperative Extension
Founded in 1914, UGA Cooperative Extension aims to disseminate research-based agricultural knowledge to the residents of Georgia. Our county agents and specialists are dedicated to addressing critical issues such as water quality, agribusiness profitability, family wellness, and essential life skills.
Agents provide valuable resources including soil and water testing kits, safe pesticide usage guidance, and educational materials to enhance the quality of life for Georgians. They are trusted experts in food safety, nutrition, child safety, and parenting.
UGA Extension also oversees 4-H, Georgia's largest youth development program, engaging nearly 200,000 young individuals annually in community projects, summer camps, and educational conferences. The skills and values cultivated through 4-H foster lifelong leadership and collaboration.
