Job Summary

The Lead Medical Assistant is a key member of our team at Brown University Health, responsible for overseeing the daily activities of Medical Assistants in our urgent care centers. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with our medical staff and patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Train and onboard new Medical Assistants to ensure a smooth transition into their roles
  • Coordinate daily activities of Medical Assistants, including scheduling and work assignments
  • Ensure adherence to established standards of safety and quality by medical assistant staff
  • Provide guidance and support to Medical Assistants, as needed
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as maintaining patient records and processing lab results
  • Assist with the development of staff schedules and work assignments to ensure efficient practice operations
  • Participate in interview and selection of Medical Assistants
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and other stakeholders
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Completion of accredited certified medical assistant training program
  • Three to five years of experience as a medical assistant, preferably in an urgent care setting
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Effective prioritization and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with medical staff and patients
