Position Details

Full-Time Position / Night Shift / 36 Hours per Week

Emory University Hospital is currently seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team.

This role is situated in a 21-bed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, where we provide highly specialized medical attention to patients facing severe heart conditions, including Congestive Heart Failure and Cardiogenic Shock. Our unit excels in areas such as airway management, hemodynamics, and the use of left ventricular support devices.

We take pride in being the only health system in Georgia with four Magnet-recognized hospitals. We are in search of experienced and passionate critical care nurses and nurse leaders who are eager to contribute to a team that is redefining the standards of nursing care.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • A minimum of 12 months of recent nursing experience within the last five years or completion of a re-entry nursing program.
  • Possession of a valid, active, unencumbered Nursing license or a temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association) are required.
Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate clinical proficiency and a comprehensive understanding of patient care within the cardiac population.
  • Utilize acquired knowledge, research, and experience to adapt to evolving clinical situations.
  • Implement the Synergy Model for Care in practice, personalizing care for each patient and their family.
  • Act as a resource for colleagues and advocate for patients and their families.
  • Maintain effective and respectful communication with patients, their families, and the healthcare team.
  • Deliver safe, reliable, and effective nursing care independently, employing the nursing process.
  • Exhibit strong assessment skills and recognize the influence of nursing care on patient outcomes.
  • Document the nursing process accurately in the appropriate formats.
  • Independently plan and implement patient care, incorporating patient and family input.
  • Evaluate patient responses to care and adjust plans as necessary.
  • Identify learning needs of patients and families, making appropriate recommendations.
  • Integrate the AACN Synergy Model into clinical practice.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
