Job Summary

Covenant Health (Tennessee) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative II to join our team. In this role, you will provide administrative support for the patient service functions related to the check-out operations of our physician practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety standards.
  • Collect and process encounter form data, collect and total outstanding balances and payments for services rendered, and balance work and computer at end of day.
  • Answer telephone calls and route accordingly, receive and record changes in patient information, and demonstrate familiarity with insurance procedures.
  • Ensure procedures and corresponding diagnosis are properly recorded on the fee slip for charge entry, schedule appointments for return visits and end of day procedures, and balance.
  • Compile data for the billing personnel, develop the A-I-D-E-T fundamentals of communication, and attend meetings as required and participate on committees as directed.
Requirements
  • One (1) year experience in a medical office setting with working knowledge of clinic appointment scheduling, collection, and experience in ICD-9/10 and CPT-4 coding (charge entry) required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of total customer-facing/customer service experience required.
