Facility Manager Job Description

US Foods is seeking a skilled Facility Manager to oversee the maintenance, repair, and appearance of our facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing personnel, driving safe and efficient facility maintenance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily work and safety of associates engaged in building, grounds, sanitation, refrigeration systems, power industrial equipment, and security maintenance.
  • Lead the creation of a culture of safety, ensuring all associates remain injury-free.
  • Perform management functions, including staff selection, development, discipline, performance reviews, and terminations.
  • Develop business relationships with third-party vendors, ensuring efficient operations and communication.
  • Manage the proper selection, purchase, utilization, and inventory of Company assets in support of the facilities department.
  • Prepare budget, profit plans, and capital requests as required.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies, conducting audits to ensure accurate inspections and documentation.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance management experience.
  • Working knowledge of ammonia and Freon systems.
  • Working knowledge of environmental regulations and governing bodies.
  • Good interpersonal skills to establish and maintain co-worker relationships.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certificate, licenses, and registrations in refrigeration/HVAC.
  • Level 1 Ammonia Operation Certification.
  • Powered Industrial Equipment Certification.
  • Certificate in fleet trade/mechanic.
Work Environment:

The Facility Manager will spend a portion of time in an office working on a computer and will also be required to spend time inside and outside the distribution center in various climates.
