Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing maintenance and upkeep of equipment, buildings, vehicles, and other agency facilities. This is a full-time regular and exempt position that requires the ability and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays when needed, as well as being On-Call in the event of emergencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritize maintenance and repair work tickets & projects, including but not limited to building and appliance repairs, general plumbing, light electrical, sheet rock repair, texture matching, and painting. Ensure compliance with federal and local health and safety standards.
  • Ensures accuracy and timely completion/approval of all facilities paperwork including but not limited to invoices, and vendor agreements.
  • Assess, and determine the need for preventative maintenance and repairs in conjunction with and under the direction of the Facilities Director.
  • Transport vehicles as needed, including 15-passenger vans.
  • Perform monthly safety inspection & meeting.
  • Perform regular and emergency repairs as required within local and state health, fire, and safety codes.
  • Make regular inspection of properties and equipment and determine the need for repairs and specialized maintenance.
  • For repairs and/or construction requiring specialized skills, work with Facilities Director to provide supervision of project and coordination with program schedule.
  • Supervise craftsman, volunteers, additional maintenance personnel, contract, and temporary maintenance staff, and/or interns, making repairs on facilities.
  • Ensure a regular maintenance schedule is kept on agency vehicles.
  • Coordinate the agency's safety committee and support program site safety meetings.
  • Investigate and resolve maintenance issues and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Ensure each assigned job area is cleaned after completion.
  • Keep key & fob distribution list.
  • Reliably attend and contribute to training and development as needed for your role and the needs of our Agency as a whole such as program requirements, DEI&J, supervision and others as identified.
  • Contribute to our DEI&J culture by creating at least one SMART Goal related to DEI&J within your control to deliver.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience and credentials must comply with program contractual requirements, including but not limited to the Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) background clearance process and must be at least 21 years of age. DCYF Clearance must be maintained for entirety of employment when working with under-18 clients.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 or more years comparable work experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with basic building maintenance including making a diagnosis, repairs, plumbing, painting, and carpentry.
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance (preferred).
  • The nature of work requires following basic safety precautions utilizing personal protective equipment.
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate, and teach others to operate, standard office equipment, home appliances, hand, and power tools. Must have good manual dexterity and hand eye coordination when operating hand and power tools.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Conditions of Employment
  • Must be able to provide I-9 supporting documentation for employment.
  • Ability to provide a negative TB Test (results must be within one year of hire date).
  • Employees who drive YouthCare vehicles as a requirement for their position, must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid Washington State Driver's License, meet minimum safe driver criteria established by the agency and our insurance company which includes completion of Defensive Driving and 15-passenger Van trainings. Drivers under the age of 25 must have been licensed for at least 3 years and those operating vehicles with a capacity of 15 or more passengers must be at least 25 years old.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately maintain and produce files, records, logs, and reports.
  • Available to be on-call when requested and promptly respond to work order requests.

Physical Considerations
  • This is a position that requires frequent walking, standing, and climbing of stairs in/around properties. Must also operate computer equipment, & cellular phones, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and crawl. Move and carry up to 50 lbs. independently and 100 lbs. with assistance. Finger dexterity is necessary. Rare or regular travel may be required to assist other properties as needed, attend training classes, business meetings, or other situations necessary for the accomplishment of some or all the daily responsibilities of this position.
