The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Medical Care Coordinator to join our team in Cambridge, Massachusetts. As a Medical Assistant (also known as Medical Member Support Specialist/Lab Service Specialist), you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient experiences and supporting our clinical teams.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing venipuncture services and dispensary responsibilities with high standards of in-office care
  • Assisting patients with extended scope duties such as non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs
  • Maintaining inventory, tool sterilization, and proper specimen labeling and handling
  • Supporting clerical duties, such as answering patient messages, following up on lab cases, and assisting providers with medical record reviews and billing inquiries
  • Ensuring a positive in-office experience through patient intake, same-day schedule management, and strong knowledge of billing and insurance
  • Contributing to team development through rounding, attending team huddles, and participating in problem-solving
  • Performing opening and closing duties, daily office upkeep, and maintaining the look and feel of patient and employee-facing spaces
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • At least 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of a training or externship environment
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in computer technology, including typing, navigating the internet, and using multiple software systems simultaneously
  • Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multi-disciplinary teams (additional experience with remote teams a plus)
  • A proven ability to display confidence and instill trust during the collection process while delivering individualized, human-centered, customer-focused care
