POSITION SUMMARY: The Staffing Coordinator role is crucial for ensuring optimal personnel allocation within our healthcare facility while adhering to staffing regulations. The individual in this position will facilitate effective communication among all team members and diligently monitor the concerns of nursing staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the scheduling of Certified Nursing Assistants (C.N.A.s) and Registered Nurses (RNs) as well as Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs).
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Nursing (DON) and the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to minimize overtime within the nursing department.
  • Support the recruitment process for new C.N.A.s and Nurses as required, in coordination with the DON/ADON and Human Resources.
  • Maintain precise attendance records for the nursing staff, monitoring instances of absenteeism, tardiness, and no-shows.
  • Ensure that all nursing stations are adequately supplied with necessary materials.
  • Organize and maintain the cleanliness of nursing stations on a weekly basis.
  • Assist in the scheduling and transportation of residents, including arrangements for escort services.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Prior experience in scheduling is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is necessary.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor are expected.
  • Capability to be resourceful, tactful, and proactive in addressing any arising issues.

  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to handle the mental and emotional stress associated with the position.
  • Must be capable of pushing, pulling, moving, and/or lifting a minimum of 25 pounds to a height of at least 5 feet and carrying such weight a distance of at least 50 feet.
  • May be required to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
