Job Summary:
Centra Healthcare Allied is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join their team for a contract assignment in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing speech therapy services to patients with speech, hearing, and language deficits.
Responsibilities:
Assess patients' needs and develop individualized plans of care
Provide skilled speech therapy services, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech and language disorders
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
Teach patients and their families how to make sounds, improve their voices, or increase their oral or written language skills to communicate more effectively
Provide education and training to patients and their families on swallowing techniques and strategies to prevent choking or inhaling food or liquid
Requirements:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist or actively pursuing licensure
Current CPR certification
Experience working in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting
Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
