Job Title: Mobile Crisis Mental Health Therapist

Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton, & Ingham Counties is seeking a highly skilled Mobile Crisis Mental Health Therapist to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a qualified professional to provide crisis intervention services, screenings for psychiatric hospitalizations, and intake assessments for youth and their families in various settings. The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field and experience working with children and adolescents with severe emotional disturbance and their families.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide crisis intervention services, screenings for psychiatric hospitalizations, and intake assessments for youth and their families in various settings.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, police officers, and other community providers to provide behavioral health stabilization.
  • Recommend referrals to various Families Forward programs, program components, and other services in the community.
  • Consult with service providers and responsible for case documentation.
  • Assess strengths by interviewing and observing consumers and their families, and formulate a disposition with family.
  • Include extensive safety planning and provide verbal de-escalation and triage over the phone.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • One year of experience in the examination, evaluation, and treatment of children and adolescents with severe emotional disturbance and their families.
  • Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both in writing and verbally.
  • Candidate must be able to work well with others.
  • Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license and access to reliable means of transportation for job-related use.
Conditional Employment Requirements:

Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, undergo and pass a Central Registry Screening, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, verification of an acceptable driving record, educational background check, and verification of an acceptable work history.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Salary and Benefits:

$64,313 - $72,384 annually with scheduled annual increases that can result in a salary of $82,929. 40 hours per week. 11pm-11am rotating two-week schedule.

Location: Families Forward/Emergency Services, Lansing, Michigan.
