**Job Overview**

Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a highly motivated Research Technologist to join our Computational Neuroimaging Lab. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science, neuroscience, or a related field, and excellent communication skills.

**About the Job**

The Research Technologist will work closely with our team of researchers to develop and maintain software for MR image analysis, as well as assist with various projects in the lab, including surface scanning of human brain samples, MRI scanning of human volunteers, and data processing and analysis.

**Responsibilities**

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining laboratory notebooks and conducting analysis of results
  • Setting up and preparing routine experiments as directed
  • Preparing lab instruments and equipment
  • Assisting with organizing materials for publication or presentation
  • Maintaining and ordering supplies
  • Executing protocols of non-routine experiments
  • Assisting the PI(s) with determining the most suitable methodology
  • Performing basic design and modification of protocols

**Requirements**

To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Neuroscience, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of directly related work experience
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to learn complicated technical details over a short period of time and carry out procedures meticulously

**Work Environment**

The Research Technologist will work in a fast-paced Computational Neuroimaging Lab at Massachusetts General Hospital. The lab develops and maintains software for MR image analysis and works primarily in a UNIX computer environment. The employee will mostly work in a general office environment, but will occasionally work in a wet lab environment as well.

**Salary**

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
