We are seeking an experienced Recreational Therapist to join our team at Edenbridge Health. As a Recreational Therapist, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing a comprehensive recreation therapy program tailored to the needs of our frail elderly participants.

Job Summary:

The Recreational Therapist will be responsible for leading the Recreation Therapy team in completing initial assessments, formulating care plans, and providing recreation therapy co-treatments and strategies to other program departments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in recreation therapy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse population.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive recreation therapy program tailored to the needs of our frail elderly participants.
  2. Lead the Recreation Therapy team in completing initial assessments, formulating care plans, and providing recreation therapy co-treatments and strategies to other program departments.
  3. Consistently monitor the diversity of participants served and their interests/needs.
  4. Drive the Recreation Therapy Wellness calendar based upon those interests/needs as identified in the initial care plans, assessments, and participant feedback.
  5. Provide training and programmatic feedback to Activity Coordinators and Recreation Therapy aides.
  6. Attend weekly team meetings and participate in staff meetings and participant care planning on a regular basis.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy or a related field.
  • Graduate of a Recreational Therapy program; CTRS or Activity Director certification.
  • Experience working with a frail or elderly population preferred.
  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques involved in relating to frail elderly persons required.
  • Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and criminal background check.
  • Must have a current Driver's License and driving record must be in compliance with Company policy. Must maintain current automobile insurance.
  • Up-to-date vaccinations, including COVID vaccine, required.
