Position Summary:

AGILE is on the lookout for a skilled propulsion engineer to take on a pivotal role in a project team dedicated to the development of a hypergolic axial engine intended for lunar lander applications.

The successful candidate will possess the technical expertise necessary to guide fellow engineers throughout the program, facilitate informed architectural decisions, and oversee the development lifecycle.

Key competencies sought include:

  • Injector design and combustion device expertise
  • Regenerative cooling design and analysis
  • Film cooling design and analysis

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze system requirements to establish architecture and subsystem frameworks
  • Provide technical direction for subsystem design
  • Conduct thorough analyses of components and subsystems
  • Lead investigations into anomalies and requirement deficiencies
  • Employ critical problem-solving techniques, prioritize tasks, and conduct detailed analyses
  • Refine engine and feature designs utilizing both simulated and empirical test data

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a B.S. or advanced degree in a relevant engineering or technical discipline, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in rocket propulsion systems. Candidates should be multi-disciplined engineers who are comfortable navigating ambiguity and complexity in their assignments. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience leading the comprehensive design and production of propulsion systems
  • Proficiency in ANSYS software
  • Experience with chemical propulsion systems
  • Familiarity with toxic or hazardous propellants
  • Expertise in designing for advanced materials and manufacturing processes
  • Hands-on experience with rocket propulsion systems

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000, with adjustments based on individual experience and technical capabilities.
