Key Responsibilities:
+ Develops tailored educational plans in collaboration with parents and fellow educators.
+ Provides specialized instruction to students with varying learning, emotional, and physical challenges.
+ Creates engaging lesson plans that align with the general curriculum for both individual and small group settings.
+ Collaborates with parents, administrators, and specialists to formulate educational strategies that enhance students' overall development.
+ Prepares classroom materials and organizes activities to facilitate effective learning experiences.
+ Oversees the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in partnership with general education staff.
+ Monitors and assesses student progress, contributing to the ongoing review and adjustment of IEPs as necessary.
+ Maintains comprehensive student records to track educational outcomes.
+ Provides mentorship and guidance to teaching assistants supporting students with disabilities.
+ Aids students in transitioning between grades and developing essential life skills.
+ Evaluates students' abilities and educational requirements, ensuring their performance is consistently tracked.
+ Engages in discussions regarding student progress with other educators.
+ Fosters positive relationships with students and their families through effective communication.
+ Adheres to all relevant district policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
+ Valid state teaching certification as mandated by district regulations.
+ A minimum of one year of experience in an educational setting is preferred.
+ Standard Elementary Teaching Certification is preferred.
+ Endorsement as a Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) is preferred.
+ Compliance with all professional standards of practice is essential.
+ Participation in Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
+ Current CPR certification, if applicable.
+ Completion of health assessments as required by state regulations.
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local educational requirements.
+ Successful completion of new hire training as relevant to the position.
+ Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations is necessary.
+ Strong communication skills and proficiency in the English language are required.
+ Computer literacy is essential.
+ Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
