Medical Screener

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Screener to join our team at CSL. As a Medical Screener, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our donors by conducting thorough medical screenings and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct medical screenings on donors, including assessing health history, answering medical questions, and performing health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature.
- Educate donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma and explain the screening process, health screening tests performed, appointment system, donation fees, center policies, and proper nutrition.
- Register applicants and transfer donors based on completion of appropriate training and operational needs of the center.
- Answer telephone calls and provide information to callers in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain alertness and awareness to any reaction by donors during or after the pheresis process and notify appropriate staff.
- Conduct daily calibration of equipment and resolve calibration out-of-specification issues according to SOPs.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures, create incident documentation, and remove or replace equipment from service.
- Provide guidance and technical training to Reception Technicians and other staff as required.
- Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
- Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as outlined in SOPs.
- Understand policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
- Maintain a clean and efficient work environment, ensure sufficient operating supplies and forms are available as needed, and follow all HSE and OSHA policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 18 months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in a medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions.
- Must be able to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation.
- Occasionally perform tasks while standing and walking up to 100% of time.
- Reach, bend, kneel, and have a high level of manual dexterity.
- Occasionally be required to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Frequently exposed to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and to blood-borne pathogens.
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment while performing specific tasks or in certain areas.
- Required to work overtime and extended hours to support center operational needs.
