Job Title: Accounting Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our team at Miccosukee Resort & Gaming. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for overseeing the control of accounting functions, including the general ledger, payables, receivables, payroll, property, budget, reporting, and statistical accumulation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the Accounting Staff to ensure they meet Miccosukee Service Expectations
  • Monitor compliance with all aspects of Miccosukee Casino & Resort internal controls
  • Train, coach, counsel, evaluate, and administer discipline to Accounting Staff team members
  • Prepare and maintain the daily summary of the Enterprises' cash flow to ensure the availability of funds to meet the cash needs of the Enterprise
  • Responsible for the preparation of monthly financial statements and accompanying schedules, worksheets, and narratives, including 'Budget vs. Actual' variance reports
  • Ensure accounting controls are being adhered to and corporate accounting policies are being followed
  • Assist in developing, reviewing, and implementing annual department budget
  • Assist with internal/external audits and ensure ongoing compliance with company's established policies
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/business is required
  • Experience with interpreting financial data from system-generated reports
  • Highly skilled in the use of advanced Excel functions and spreadsheets
  • Proficient in the use of MS Word
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent work habits, including a willingness to work additional hours when necessary to meet deadlines
  • Work schedule includes a Saturday or Sunday
  • Bilingual preferred, English required, Spanish a plus
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting is required
