Position Summary:

As a vital member of our Smart Packaging Solutions Team, you will oversee the technical implementation and ongoing maintenance of automation systems for our clients. Your role will encompass commissioning, testing, and programming of various automation instrumentation and control systems, along with preventive maintenance and repair services for a diverse range of manufacturing automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, VFDs, and industrial networking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations established by both the client and Grantek.
  • Deliver services that include configuration, commissioning, and troubleshooting, both on-site and remotely.
  • Interpret technical documentation, including schematics, manuals, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical installation teams.
  • Connect to PLCs and cameras for on-site configuration and verification.
  • Conduct I/O checks and tune camera systems as necessary.
  • Work closely with the Engineering team on all projects.
  • Provide guidance on mechanical installations and troubleshoot software and electrical issues.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Train customer operators and maintenance staff.

Technologies Utilized:

While familiarity with all technologies listed is not required, a willingness to learn is essential:

  • PLC Programming Platforms: Rockwell / Allen-Bradley.
  • Barcode Scanners and Smart Cameras (Cognex).
  • Basic Ethernet networking knowledge.
  • HMI Platforms: Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Ignition.
  • SCADA Platforms: Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Inductive Automation.
  • Operating Systems: Microsoft.
  • Project Documentation: Microsoft Office.

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires 2-3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Possesses or is pursuing an EET diploma or Mechatronics diploma/AS degree.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle.
  • Willingness to travel up to 80% within the United States.
