Job Description

InGenesis is seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing culturally competent preventative and early intervention mental health services for the ARISE program. This position will spend approximately half the time in the field, working with youth and adults to provide comprehensive behavioral health services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide preventative counseling services to clients, including intake evaluations, assessments, crisis intervention, and treatment planning.
  • Perform comprehensive behavioral health services, including individual, family, and group interventions, as well as health education and outreach.
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager and Outreach Worker to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Serve as the main liaison to school districts, providing school-based behavioral health services and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Conduct behavioral health screenings, triage, evaluations, and assessments to determine the appropriate level of care.
  • Develop and implement referrals to community resources, as indicated by assessed need.
  • Maintain accurate patient case records and prepare reports as required.
  • Provide psychopharmacological consultation to primary care providers, in consultation with the Psychiatrist.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in social work or doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology.
  • Current California license - clinical social worker (LCSW) or psychologist.
  • Bilingual skills, preferably in Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, or Japanese, are highly desirable.
Preferred Experience:
  • One year of directly related experience, including a background in primary care consultation, behavioral medicine, health psychology, or other relevant areas.
  • Experience in public/community health settings and/or in serving Asian communities.
  • Experience in school-based settings.
Physical Demands:
  • Sitting, walking, and standing associated with working in a normal medical/clinical office environment and with providing services out in the field.
  • Regular bending and stretching, as well as lifting.
  • Manual dexterity used to operate standard office equipment and computer keyboards.
  • Presenting information in front of a group.
  • Reading and writing to review records for accuracy and maintain client files.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary.
