We are currently seeking a Chief Medical Officer for our Anesthesia Services division, which operates under the Hospital-Based Physician Services umbrella. This role is based out of our corporate office and requires residency in the surrounding area, with a travel commitment of approximately 50%. The CMO will report directly to the President of Anesthesia Services.

ROLE SUMMARY:
The Chief Medical Officer for Anesthesia Services plays a pivotal role within the senior executive team, responsible for shaping and steering clinical quality initiatives, outcomes, and compliance across the organization. As the physician leader overseeing quality and clinical services in Anesthesia, the CMO will be instrumental in formulating, implementing, and assessing strategies that enhance patient care and operational efficiency. This position will involve collaboration with various internal and external experts to adopt best practices that align with our strategic goals. The CMO will also coordinate efforts with HCA's Clinical Services Group, Strategic Resources Group, Quality Department, and Clinical Informatics to ensure cohesive clinical operations.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
  • MD or DO degree is mandatory.
  • A minimum of ten years' experience in a senior medical leadership role within a complex healthcare environment, focusing on quality and performance improvement.
  • Proven track record of clinical practice with at least 10 years of experience.
  • Expertise in developing service line performance metrics and dashboards.
  • Capability to design clinical pathways aimed at enhancing patient care and operational throughput.
  • Experience in establishing peer review processes with constructive feedback mechanisms for clinicians.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Regular engagement with administrative leadership and medical directors to provide updates on program performance and address clinical needs.
  • Familiarity with quality reporting systems.
  • Understanding of compensation models for hospitals and physicians.
  • Experience in creating clinical processes and performance indicators.
  • Strong service orientation towards business partners.
  • Demonstrated success in navigating a matrixed organizational structure.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships with key stakeholders across various levels of the organization.
  • Collaboration with Compliance, Human Resources, Business Development, and Legal Operations as necessary.
