Linder Industrial Machinery Company is a leading heavy equipment dealer with a strong commitment to safety and environmental performance. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Regional Safety Director.

As a Regional Safety Director, you will be responsible for improving the safety and environmental performance of all Linder locations. This will involve inspecting and evaluating workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and governmental regulations.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Investigating accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures
  • Assisting in the preparation of corrective actions to prevent similar accidents
  • Reporting and reviewing outcomes from accident investigations, facilities inspections, or environmental testing to senior management
  • Maintaining and updating emergency response plans and procedures
  • Compiling, analyzing, and interpreting statistical data related to occupational illnesses and accidents
  • Conducting or coordinating employee training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and the use of safety equipment
  • Recommending measures to protect employees from potentially hazardous work methods and processes
  • Ensuring all safety manuals, programs, policies, and practices are current and adhered to
  • Periodically inspecting equipment, structures, materials at branches for safety and compliance
  • Monitoring highest risks at each branch to ensure progress is made to reduce risk
  • Leading efforts to assist branches in creating a safety-aware environment
  • Encouraging a consistent safety culture throughout the company
  • Providing support to branch safety committees
  • Maintaining and applying knowledge of EPA, OSHA, DOT, and MSHA safety regulations, as well as current industry processes, and reporting required data to government agencies as required
  • Coordinating compliance with federal and company standards, ensuring adherence to OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other federal, state, local, and company regulations
  • Developing and implementing performance metrics to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the company safety plans
  • Compiling a database of approved licensed contractors, ensuring each has required liability and workers' compensation coverage prior to implementation of a project
  • Maintaining compliance websites as required by customers

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Occupational Safety Management or equivalent experience
  • Minimum four years experience in a safety-related position
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong presentation skills and experience in classroom delivery and training development
  • Persistence in the face of obstacles
  • Able to respond to emergency situations with composure
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software programs
