Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient/family problems and resources, taking a leadership role in the development, implementation, and outcomes evaluation of a plan for nursing care.
  • Provide professional nursing care and interventions to acutely ill adult patient populations.
  • Position requires providing service to one or more age groups, including young adults through geriatric patients, in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.
  • Deliver care to 4-6 patients per shift.
  • Administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, and chart with timely documentation.
  • Collaborate with a variety of other healthcare professionals, such as social work, care coordination, physical therapy, occupational therapy, lab, respiratory therapy, and imaging.
  • Track routine heart rate, blood pressure, and pulse ox levels.
  • Quickly report and address any changes in condition.
  • Patiently and thoroughly explain test results and procedures to patients and family members.
  • Educate patients on post-hospital care, including prescribed medicine, care maintenance, and prevention.

Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of bedside RN experience. Additional years of experience as required by specialty area(s).
  • ADN required; BSN preferred.
  • Must hold and maintain AZ or compact state RN license (RN), American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR BLS), and American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Must have strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
