Job Title: Product Development Expert

The position of Product Development Expert is available at EFI Polymers, a custom formulator and manufacturer of high-quality performance embedment epoxy & polyurethane materials, specialty industrial coatings, and latex adhesives. As a Product Development Expert, you will be responsible for developing new formulated products, technical product support, and trouble shooting.

This role reports directly to the VP of Technology and collaborates as necessary with Sales, R&D Chemists, and Lab Technicians. You will have extensive experience in formulating epoxy & polyurethane potting, embedment & adhesives products for the electrical and electronics markets. Experience in silicone formulating will be considered.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of laboratory equipment key to our industry (e.g., viscometer, TMA, DSC, TGA, Instron, FTIR) and will be able to balance depth of investigation with complexity/value. You will also prioritize projects and problem-solving, optimizing product performance and cost objectives.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop commercially viable new product development projects, technical support projects, and customer trouble-shooting projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify customer needs and develop products that meet those needs.
  • Conduct laboratory experiments to test and evaluate new product formulations.
  • Analyze data and provide recommendations for product improvements.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with minimum 8+ years of relevant epoxy & polyurethane formulating experience.
  • Strong communication skills and a quick study.
  • Able to comprehend customer needs and product requirements communicated by the sales team and identify key information that leverages success in the product development cycle.
