FACILITY MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Facility Maintenance Technician to become a vital member of our team at Homes for the Homeless (HFH). This role is essential in maintaining a secure and sanitary environment for families within our care. The Facility Maintenance Technician will be tasked with executing various maintenance and repair duties at our facility, which encompass plumbing assistance, basic carpentry, HVAC systems, and other building infrastructure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance to ensure optimal facility operations and prevent deterioration of the physical site.
  • Efficiently manage service requests and work orders.
  • Perform repairs on drywall, paint, doors, locks, and other building fixtures.
  • Evaluate and address issues related to electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and general carpentry.
  • Identify and communicate building deficiencies or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
  • Safely operate and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Assist with inspections of units.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in general maintenance is necessary.
  • Proficient knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and drywall repairs.
  • Familiarity with the safe use of power tools.
  • Ability to utilize computers and related technology effectively.
  • Physical capability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Capacity to stand for extended periods (up to 9 hours).
  • Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule.
