Role Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse (RN) operates within the ANA scope of practice, employing the nursing process to deliver professional care. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and discharging patients while incorporating patient-family centered care principles. The RN is responsible for providing high-quality care under the guidance of the Nurse Leader, adhering to Corewell Health policies and recognizing the significance of nursing interventions and patient/family collaboration on health outcomes. The RN actively engages with patients and families to establish care plans and develop educational strategies, ensuring thorough documentation of patient education in health records.

Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing is required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required within five years for new graduates or nurses with less than one year of experience.
- Graduates from non-accredited nursing programs must have at least one year of acute care experience or two years in a licensed healthcare role, along with successful completion of the NCLEX exam.
- Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire from an accredited organization.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within six months of hire, with Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certifications required within specified timeframes.
- Specialty certification is highly recommended within two years.
- Prior RN experience is preferred, but new graduates may be considered.
Work Schedule
This position is full-time, primarily during night shifts, with a weekly commitment of 36 hours. The RN will work varied days and is expected to cover every third weekend.
