Job Summary

Hope for Youth is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Wendy's Wonderful Kids Adoption Recruiter to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in finding permanent and loving adoptive families for children and youth in foster care.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive recruitment plans for each child, working closely with social workers, case managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct in-person visits and transports, as well as regular contact with each child's caseworker and post-adoption support team.
  • Search for potential adoptive families among targeted populations and recruitment areas, and work with identified contacts to secure necessary authorizations.
  • Establish personal relationships with referred children and assist in readiness activities, while maintaining collaborative relationships with social workers, case managers, and other members of the case management team.
  • Abide by Hope for Youth's policies and procedures, and attend educational opportunities provided by our organization and the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
  • Timely and accurately enter data and produce reports, as needed.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related human service field, with 2-4 years of child welfare experience, preferably in foster care adoption.
  • Valid NYS Driver's License in good standing, with access to a reliable vehicle for regular visits.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and build collaborative partnerships with child's team and community partners, and competence in planning, organizing, scheduling, case documentation, and strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Strong human relations skills to communicate and work effectively within a culturally diverse work environment and community.
  • Physical Requirements: read/write reports and log entries, walking/standing/sitting for prolonged periods, bending/stooping, kneeling/squatting, climbing stairs, reaching overhead, repetitive wrist/finger movements, driving, and ongoing access to reliable vehicle and driving own vehicle for work.

Additional Qualifications
  • Valid NYS Driver's License in good standing.
  • Access to own reliable vehicle daily.
  • Non-profit work environment, especially social services, is a huge plus.
  • Ability to be flexible with scheduling.
