Job Title: Field Engineer

M1 Support Services is seeking a skilled Field Engineer to join our team. As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for our computer systems and networks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist users in resolving software and hardware issues via telephone, email, and the helpdesk system.
  • Track and record all user issues forwarded through the ITS helpdesk.
  • Perform daily and periodic computer, printer, and peripheral maintenance as required.
  • Maintain and follow various maintenance tracking and ticketing policies and procedures.
  • Advises and assists in the relocation, upgrade, and replacement of IT equipment for single user instances.
  • Interact with end users, vendors, and contractors to maximize network/systems utilization.
  • Complete administrative and technical duties assigned by the Supervisor of IT Support.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work center/area.
  • Develop, formulate, and improve methods, processes, and/or procedures to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Pursue on-the-job and individual training to increase knowledge and job skills.
  • Use approved methods/procedures in the performance of assigned job.
  • Correct/report all observed unsafe practices/conditions.
  • Demonstrate job procedures and assist in the training of employees who are assigned to work in the classification.
  • Comply with established general and industrial safety rules and regulations as applicable to the contract, facilities, and job assignments.
  • Assist as directed to ensure safety, security, and preservation of Government/Company owned equipment and supplies.
  • Work and communicate with internal and external clients and customers to meet their needs in a polite, courteous, and cooperative manner.
Requirements:
  • Two years employment experience in small computer/network support, IT industry standard certification, or an Associate's degree in a computer-related field of study.
  • Proven understanding of computer concepts and a strong desire to enter the IT field.
  • Experience with various Microsoft operating systems and a general understanding of common network services.
  • Well-developed problem-solving, technical writing, and reading comprehension skills.
  • Current CompTIA Security+ certification as a condition of employment.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions and have the ability to work with others to effect solutions to ordinary situations/problems.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to interact and communicate with technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize work assignments with little supervision.
  • Willingness and ability to deal with customers, employees, and the general public in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ability to meet any Government/Company licensing/qualification requirements for the position.
  • Ability to obtain the level of Industrial Security Clearance required by the Government.
