Position Overview:
The Pain Management Center is seeking an experienced Ambulatory Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing various diagnostic and therapeutic pain management procedures. You will be part of a dedicated team focused on prioritizing patient-centered outcomes. Our approach emphasizes understanding each patient as an individual, responding to their needs, and delivering meaningful nursing care while respecting their values and preferences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments to evaluate health status.
- Perform telephone triage and communicate abnormal findings to the physician or licensed independent practitioner.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to establish effective care plans.
- Work alongside care coordinators to facilitate seamless transitions of care.
- Assist in specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring patient responses closely.
- Initiate emergency measures, including CPR, as necessary.
- Provide health education tailored to the needs of patients and their families, documenting educational efforts.
- Support the efficient operation of ambulatory care areas.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and research activities aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and safety.
- Maintain ongoing professional development and meet annual core competencies.
- Travel within the region may be required to support various physician clinics and surgical procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required within six months of hire for areas performing moderate sedation procedures.

- Demonstrated critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to function effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Professional demeanor and focus on patient safety and quality improvement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Full range of motion and manual dexterity are essential.
- Corrected hearing and vision to normal range are required.
- May involve exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
- Light work involving lifting and moving objects as necessary.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Adhere to Standard Precautions and utilize personal protective equipment as required.
